ChemFORWARD and EDF Partner in Safer Product Innovation Webinar
ChemFORWARD is excited to participate in a webinar discussing safer product innovation with the Environmental Defense Fund on Dec. 17. Dr. Lauren Heine, ChemFORWARD’s director of of safer materials & data integrity and Stacy Glass, executive director, will join EDF’s supply chain project manager Alissa Sasso for a conversation about innovating safer ingredients and products, allowing companies to stay ahead of regulatory scrutiny, manage business risk and build consumer trust.
Without comprehensive, transparent and comparable hazard information for chemicals and their alternatives, companies face steep obstacles to participating in the growth of sustainable products – a sector that is outpacing conventional products. Lauren and Stacy will explain ChemFORWARD’s first portfolio, containing data on 10 alternatives to hazardous plasticizers and talk about the high-priority alternative portfolios in the 2020 pipeline. And they will talk about the organization’s first-of-its-kind method for embracing stakeholder input and fairly distributing the often-prohibitive cost of chemical hazard assessments.
